Compensation: $40.50 - $60.80 per hour, based on years of experience
Summary:
Provides safe, quality patient care in the
Intraoperative area. Accountable for the
assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care during
intraoperative period.
Principal Responsibilities:
1.
Will participate and maintain a culture within

2.
Assesses patient status during pre-op interview,
and on a continuing basis.
3.
Provides safe, therapeutic quality care to
patients by utilizing the nursing process and nursing diagnosis in a timely
manner and by setting appropriate priorities.
Documents interventions and patient’s responses.
4.
Ensures provision of patient care in an
organized and timely manner.
5.
Utilizes nursing care standards when planning
and implementing patient care.
6.
Communicates appropriate information regarding
patient conditions to those who require the information including, surgeons,
anesthesia, management and other staff.
7.
Safely carries out physician’s orders correctly
and promptly, documenting all activities.
8.
Assist Anesthesia staff as needed.
9.
Displays an understanding of each patient’s
cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturity in assessments,
treatment and care.
10.
Participate in the orientation and training of
new employees.
11.
Maintains competencies to function in RN role
within specific area.
12.
Protect sedated and anesthetized patients by
identifying safety hazards such as electrical, equipment, pressure points and
by minimizing exposure to maintain privacy and body temperature.
13.
Expertise in safety principles, asepsis, sterile
technique and universal precautions.
14.
Assesses, anticipates and implements appropriate
care throughout the surgical process.
15.
Other duties as assigned.
Education/Licensure/Experience:
Graduate of an accredited school of registered
nursing
Current unencumbered State of Oregon license as
a Registered Nurse
Current CPR certification, ACLS or ability to
obtain ACLS within six (6) months of hire date
Minimum of one year OR experience;
multispecialty preferred; CNOR preferred.
One or more years of experience in an acute care
hospital; preferred.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
PALS certification, preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to manage emergency situations in a calm
and confident manner
Demonstrated flexibility and leadership with
unscheduled procedure changes
Organize, prioritize, delegate and assign duties
to non-licensed personnel
Maintain skills in equipment usage and
troubleshooting
Complete knowledge and understanding of
peri-operative nursing care in the freestanding ambulatory surgery center
Evidence of working knowledge of the nursing process
Knowledge of basic clinical skills to provide
patient care
Ability to work well with providers, clinical
staff and patients
Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
in a busy, fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work
Adhere to all policies and procedures, including
but not limited to standards for confidentiality, Infection Control, Safety
(OSHA), Attendance, Personal Electronic Equipment, Punctuality and Personal
Appearance.
Participates in Quality Improvement activities
