RN - Clinical Coordinator
Overview The RN-Clinical Coordinator will report directly to the Medical Director of the Vascular Lab. Candidate will be responsible for all day-to-day business and clinical operations for multiple physicians and staff. The candidate will also scrub into and assist multiple physicians with procedures. The Clinical Coordinator will manage growth opportunities for staff and work closely with the OBL Medical Directors and AVP of Ambulatory Services in staff assignment, recruitment, and new employee training. The Clinical Coordinator will participate in physician meetings regarding business financials and operational improvement initiatives. The Clinical Coordinator will serve as liaison with outside vendors and other hospital departments on behalf of the lab. Job Details Managerial Duties Oversees overall operations of the office-based vascular lab. Interviews, hire and supervise office staff. Assesses, plans, implements, and monitors budget activities for the office-based vascular lab. Responsible for the evaluation of staff performance. Conduct regular staff meetings. Oversees the orientation and training of new employees as outlined in their job descriptions. Plans, develops, and implements standards to ensure quality of care in the office-based vascular lab. Manages accounts receivables and reporting. Oversees coding and billing processes. Coordinates staff and doctors work schedules. Develops policies/procedures as appropriate. Responsible to keep up to date with insurance requirements. Addresses all practice physician needs and concerns. Develops and maintains relationship with outside practice managers. Manage scheduling of vascular procedures and coordinate with other departments to ensure optimal use of resources. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and professional development opportunities. Ensure that all vascular procedures meet the established quality standards and protocols. Monitor compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation requirements, including maintaining proper documentation. Implement and oversee infection control practices and safety measures. Address patient concerns and resolve any issues related to the vascular services provided. Ensure that all vascular diagnostic equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and updated. Stay current with advancements in vascular technology and recommend upgrades or new equipment as needed. Prepare for and participate in accreditation surveys and inspections. Performs other duties as assigned. Scrub Tech Duties Sterilizing the operating room and all surgical tools Responsible for reviewing the accuracy of printed records prior to placing in medical record and evaluate accuracy of data. Is knowledgeable of all equipment and supplies required for each case type and where they can be obtained. Demonstrates technical knowledge of procedures. Preps access site as ordered by physician pre-procedure Actively works to improve performance by seeking and acting on feedback from others. Participates in team huddle, time-out, and all aspects of procedure as suggested for patient safety. Demonstrates knowledge of patient safety standards and follows all hospital policies and procedures pertaining to patient safety. Setting up surgical instruments and keeping them organized during the procedure Passing surgical tools to the surgeon Following the surgeon’s instructions and helping with technical procedures Monitoring the patient's vitals and identifying potential complications during the procedure Administering medication and treatments as needed and responding to medical emergencies Coordinating with the surgical team to ensure quality of care for the patient Assists during emergency resuscitation. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or BSN New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration BLS/ACLS training required and accepted from the American Heart Association. No online programs from any organization will be accepted. Minimum with 2-3 years of experience preferred Skills, Knowledge or Abilities Independent individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills required in order to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, physicians, outside agencies and other hospital staff. Medical terminology preferred. Strong computer skills a must. Knowledge of EPIC Electronic Medical Record, radiology scheduling and insurance authorization. Salary Range USD $60.00 - USD $70.00 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
