**Responsibilities**
Develop, implement, and has oversight over the Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) audit plan, utilizing audit findings to develop, implement, and maintain formal and informal training to physicians, mid-level providers and ancillary staff.
Responsibilities:
+ Oversee and develop the audit plan and schedule for CDI department, including performing concurrent and retrospective reviews of the medical records, utilizing evidence-based knowledge, protocols, and documentation criteria.
+ Develop formal and informal training and education material related to findings from audits and staff feedback; implement and facilitate this training with CDI staff, physicians, clinical and ancillary staff to improve the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation.
+ Assist Health Information Management leadership in developing meaningful goals, metrics and targets representing CDI's work performance and provider documentation performance. Assist leadership in the development of the CDI plan as it relates to quality metrics and provider education.
+ Responsible for education of newly hired CDI staff, setting up orientation process, monitoring of orientee throughout orientation and reporting to leadership meeting of milestones and successes.
+ Establish relationships with physicians, other health team members and the coding team in order to communicate the benefits of complete and accurate documentation.
**Requirements**
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
+ Clinical Documentation Prof. credentialed from the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
+ Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
+ Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
**Additional Preferences**
BSN
CCDS certified or will be certified upon start date
AHIMA ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer preferred
3-5 years recent CDS experience
2 years recent CDIS auditing and education experience
10 years Acute Care nursing experience
Ability to be a team player, take direction and highly self-motivated
Must have strong skills in diplomacy, professionalism and trustworthiness
Proficiency in Google and Microsoft office applications
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Regulatory Knowledge
Excellent Communication skills
