The Staff Educator will be responsible and accountable for the orientation and evaluation process of new nursing associates. The position requires 1:1 and group interaction with nursing staff from all specialties as well as interaction with all levels of nursing management. Will provide initial skills assessment of new hire nurses. Will develop and implement general courses for continued education as well as specialty courses. The Staff Educator will maintain expert clinical skills and be able/willing to contribute to nursing care. Remains current with new technologies and their impact on patient care. Assists with development and implementation of clinical competencies. Available to work as staff RN or relief clinical supervisor as needed on 1st, 2nd or 3rd shifts. Responsibility includes general RN Job Description in addition to Staff Educator and Relief Clinical Supervisor Job Descriptions. The Relief Clinical Supervisor functions with a primary concern for patient care. Continuously provides expertise to the staff by assessing the quality and quantity of care and evaluating and intervening in the management of care problems as necessary. The Clinical Supervisor oversees the facilities operations in the absence of directors or administration; and, collaborates with them on an as needed basis.
Education REQUIRED: BSN
Experience REQUIRED: Minimum three years experience as RN with prior leadership experience as a charge nurse.
Licenses/Certificates REQUIRED: RN License in State of Alabama
