RN Clinical Scholar - Progressive Care Unit

Boulder Community Health is seeking an RN Clinical Scholar selected by hospital leadership and Regis University faculty to oversee the clinical experience of nursing students during clinical rotations at BCH dedicated educational unit (DEU).

Qualifications •Bachelor of Science in Nursing required •Colorado RN license in good standing •BLS certification required by end of conditional period •Knowledge of Regis educational course objectives and clinical outcomes •Completes course-specific orientation to plan the implementation of the student clinical experience •Able to plan the clinical experience •Communication, coaching, and basic teaching skills •One year of RN experience in PCU
Responsibilities •Assign students to clinical unit and to preceptors for direct supervision. •Communicate with students at least one week prior to start of rotation. •Schedule individual clinical experiences or students in collaboration with the preceptor. •Coordinate observational learning experiences for the student. •Evaluate students and their clinical experiences, including grading papers and other evaluative tasks in cooperation with Regis. •Orient students to hospital policies, rules and regulations, including hospital policies on confidentiality. •Participate in ongoing oral and written communication with Regis regarding student performance and evaluation, absences, assignments, scheduling, disciplinary matters and other pertinent information. •Keep student information and records confidential.
