Job Description

This is a full time day shift working in the COU - Cardiac Observation Unit for Pre and Post Cath Lab patients at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, AZ

What you'll do :

The registered nurse in the Cardiac Observation Unit provides a high level of care for the Cath Lab patients pre and post procedures.  Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.  

About our Cath Lab & COU :

The Cardiac Catheterization Department is composed of three catheterization labs as well as one hybrid room and Cardiac Observation Unit (COU) where our patients are prepped for procedures and recovered post procedure. Our team works with high risk, high acuity patients and pride ourselves in superb outcomes. 

Bedside procedures such as Trans esophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and Cardioversions (CV) are performed in COU.

Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements

Education:

Required:  Associates or Diploma in nursing program

Preferred:  Bachelor's degree in nursing                                                

Experience:

Clinical experience in area of expertise preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

Required:

Current Arizona RN license or compact state license

American Heart Association (AHA)  or American Red Cross (ARC) BLS & ACLS
