JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARYThe Community Oversite RN is responsible for ensuring unlicensed personell are trained on medication administration according to the requirements of Kentucky RN delegation regulations and Sinceri Senior Living policy and procedures.  
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum one  year of experience in RN delegation oversite in senior living or related health programs preferred. The Community Oversite RN has the responsibility to understand the rules for delegating tasks of nursing care/medications and achieve the competence to delegate and supervise according to the Kentucky State Board of Nursing policies, Kentucky regulations, and Sinceri Senior Living policies and procedures.Must be proficient in developing, implementing, and evaluating educational training plans. Must be able to speak fluent in English for the safe and effective performance of the job.Must be able to work with residents with active cases of COVID-19.Must be computer proficient in typing and various programs, including a background in EHR management.Subject to a criminal background check and drug screening.Holds current unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in Kentucky. BSN preferred.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1.Delegation and TeachingIt is the responsibility of the Community Oversite RN to decide when, how and if it is appropriate for unlicensed persons to be delegated tasks of nursing care, i.e. medication administration, glucometer readings. The Community Oversite RN, when delegating to an unlicensed person, is authorizing that person to perform a task of nursing care normally within the Registered Nurse's scope of practice. In accordance with KRS 314.021(2), nurses are held responsible and accountable for their decisions regarding the supervision and delegation of nursing acts to unlicensed personnel who provide nursing assistance, based upon the nurse's educational preparation and current clinical competence in nursing.Delegation and teaching must be provided and documented by the Community Oversite RN in accordance with the regulations of Kentucky Health and Human Services and the Kentucky Board of Nursing.Responsible for the teaching of medication pass techniques and safety to medication techs.Responsible for Quality Assurance Audits as it relates to the entire medication administration system, including observations of medication pass by the medication techs.Responsible for Quality Assurance Audits as it relates to resident incidents or change of condition, or as deemed appropriate by RDHS, VP of Clinical or other Regional or Executive team member.2. Community Compliance MonitoringPerform medication trainings, audits of med carts, medication pass observations, and pharmacy reviews. May do other audits as requested by Regional Team, Executive Leadership. Review medication variance reports and develop a plan to address any compliance issues with the Health Services Director (HSD), Executive Directors, and others.Review electronic health record to ensure documentation, assessments and incident reports are updated and documented appropriately and timely and work with the HSD and Executive Director with developing plans to remain in compliance.  Work with the community team on service plans and apply appropriate interventions, as needed.Participate in preparing for regulatory surveys and monitoring regulatory survey plan of corrections.
OTHER DUTIES Participate and/or hold TB testing clinics and annual screenings for the communities as assigned. Participate in evaluations and service plans as needed.Participate in skills checklists for caregivers as needed.Self medication administration assessments for AL.Other duties as assigned by Regional Team and/or Executive Leadership.
WORKING CONDITIONSAble to work full time, with some weekend work (if required).Available by phone 24 hours per day, seven days per week, to provide support and resources to delegated staff member.90% travel without restriction. Travel could include weekend stayovers but will be discussed well in advance if this is possible This position is paid a salary intended to cover all hours worked during the week, knowing those hours may sometimes exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week and may fluctuate from week to week.
