About the unit Blodgett Emergency Department is a community based hospital with a big city feel that is part of Corewell Health Grand Rapids. Corewell Health Grand Rapids is a Magnet Designated environment for nurses and in 2023 achieved our fourth designation. Blodgett ED is a certified Primary Stroke Center, Level III Trauma Center and Geriatric Emergency Department (Level 2). There are over 30 care spaces to treat patients with minor to major medical and traumatic emergencies. Interdisciplinary team members collaborate closely to provide relationship based care for our patients and their loved ones. Blodgett ED has over 43,000 visits/year and ranks highly in patient experience and exceeds throughput measures compared to the national average. Scope of work Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health.
