RN Emergency Department Day and Night Shifts

Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX,  is seeking a full time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our amazing Level One Emergency Department.   Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

 Schedule: Full Time

Day and Night shift available , 7a-7p  and  7p-7a   36 hours per week

\n

Unit Summary

\n

Busy ER in level One Trauma Hospital -Certified Chest Pain and Stroke Center

\n

Our Registered Nurse (RN) staff are proficient in Stroke and STEMI activations and established care guidelines

\n

This is a fast-paced ER environment whose success is dependent on teamwork. We have 50 exam rooms and 6 trauma bays

\n

RNs work closely with ED Providers, Social Workers, Registration, etc. because we are truly in it together!

\n

The Emergency department primarily cares for adult populations, but we do care for pediatric patients as needed.

\n

Registered Nurses (RN) can be involved in Improvement projects, Shared Governance, department committees and councils. Everyone's voice matters

\n

This unit provides staff the ability to learn new skills, improve time management, and be a part of team that is focused on making ED experiences 'Better for Everyone'

Job Summary

\n

As a Registered Nurse, will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. 

\n

What You'll Do

\n\nYou, as an RN, will conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.\nBuilding relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families.\nCreating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues.\nYou will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.\nWork with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.\nYou'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.\nAchieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development, show community service commitment.\n\n

What Will Make You Successful In The Role

\n\nA deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.\nKnow nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Qualifications

\n\nGrad of an Accredited Registered Nurse Program\nSpecialized field of study should be nursing.\nA current and valid nursing license.\nMust have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.\n1 year of RN experience in Emergency department required\n
