The Scripps Health Emergency Nursing Transition Program facilitates the transition of RNs and New Grad RNs with varied clinical backgrounds to an advanced beginner Emergency (ED/ER) Nurse.
During the program, trainees are supported as they develop knowledge and skills to care for the challenging and varied population of patients that seek care in the Emergency Department setting. The classroom portion is system-wide. Positions and clinical training are site-based.
The program utilizes four teaching modalities:
eLearning – Scripps specific modules and modules based on the Emergency Nursing Association core curriculumLectures that generalize the didactic to the bedsideHands-on skills and simulation learningClinical orientation with trained preceptors in the Emergency Departments across the systemAt the end of the program, trainees will transition to a full-time position on their unit. Additionally, trainees should expect to work the night shift on their unit after the completion of the program unless otherwise specified by the hiring leader.
Program Dates: June 2, 2025 - August 23, 2025
(Program dates will be expanded for New Grad RNs)
