Gross Weekly Pay = $2,646 / 40 hrs. E ndoscopy Pre/Post RN - Variable Days Newburgh, IN 40 MILE RADIUS RULE - NO LOCAL CANDIDATES Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: ASAP / 11/11 Guaranteed Hours Per Week: 40 Shift: 10hr Days Start Times: 0600-0900 Float Requirements: You will have a home unit but be expected to be the 1st to float as needed (each campus is about 15 mins. away from each other) On Call/Call Back Requirements: None Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Available but not required Required Certifications to be Attached upon Submittal: BLS, ACLS, PALS (preferred), IN or Compact RN License Minimum Experience: 1-2 years as Endoscopy RN; Previous Perioperative experience Charting Experience Required: EPIC Required Skillset: Admission and recovery of GI/Urology Patients required; General anesthesia recovery; Optional desired skills circulating RN, experience with endoscope reprocessing Unit Information (Bed size, Case type, Patient ratio): Across the three campuses: 13 procedure rooms; GI Cases include EGD, Colonoscopy, EUS, FNA, ERCP. Urology Cases include Cystoscopy with interventions, UroNav, UroLift, TRUSP. Uniform info: Navy blue or provided for intra-op staff Covid-19 Vaccine Not Required -- Subject to change The Endoscopy RN will be responsible for planning and administering care of the patient undergoing diagnostic Endoscopy procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Applies the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of the patient undergoing a diagnostic endoscopy + Assess physical, psychological, psychosocial and educational needs of the patient + Provides patient with explanations of procedures and treatments + Demonstrates awareness and respects all patient’s rights, privacy and confidentiality + Treats all patients with dignity and respect + Assists physician with all endoscopy procedures including colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, EGD, PEG tube placement, and ERCP + Follows facility guidelines in the assessment, care and evaluation of the patient receiving conscious sedation + Documents assessment, administration and patient’s response to conscious sedation according to facility policy and procedure + Monitors and documents each intervention during the endoscopy procedure + Demonstrates safety and accuracy in the administration, monitoring and documentation of all treatments, medications, and IV therapies + Provides a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for the patient + Responds immediately and appropriately to emergencies or acute changes in patient status + Provides Pathologist and other medical team members with accurate and complete information regarding specimen collection + Adheres to and applies all principles of infection control during endoscopic procedures, with the disinfection and sterilization of equipment, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and disposing of biomedical/hazardous waste + Ensures appropriate care, maintenance and safe handling of scopes at all times + Applies cautery-grounding pad appropriately + Adheres to facility guidelines in use of gluteraldehyde/Steris + Assures Endoscopy Department Discharge Criteria are met before discharging patient + Ensures the discharge process provides continuing care based on the assessed needs of the patient and communicates explicit time/action discharge instructions using simple terminology + Effectively communicates and collaborates with other members of the health care team and patient’s family when appropriate to address patient’s needs and generate safe patient outcomes Minimum Requirements: + Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state in which he/she practices + One (1) year experience in a GI/Endo lab within the last three years preferred + Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice + Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable + Current CPR if applicable + TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site + Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements + Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required + Computer proficiency required + Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
