In the Float Pool, you will work with diverse populations of patients in numerous units, departments and/or locations while learning from many of our best caregivers. **A caregiver in this position works Day/Evening/Night/Weekend, from 7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established healthcare organization policies, procedures, and protocols. Implements and monitors patient care plans. + Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate. + Monitor and document patient's condition and effectiveness and timeliness of care and/or interventions. + Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes. + Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. + Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol. + Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. + Assess the educational needs of the patient and significant others considering cultural issues and other special concerns. + Provide teaching and educational material as appropriate. + Validate and document patient and family understanding of teaching. + Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. + Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN). + Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) must be presented upon hire. + Any registered nurse or advanced practice nurse must obtain a cancer specific certification or demonstrate ongoing qualifying education within the period of the facilities accreditation cycle, if they work in medical oncology, radiation oncology, cancer center or cancer clinic and/or administer chemotherapy within an accredited Cleveland Clinic facility. + One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting required for acute care settings. + Will consider licensed military RN experience.
