Medina Hospital’s 2 South is a General Medicine Unit known for its compassionate, comprehensive, and patient-first patient care, highly skilled nursing team and engaging work environment. Featuring 25 patient beds, Registered Nurses in this unit are responsible for managing pre-surgical patients and patients needing antibiotic treatment and wound care, performing advanced dressing changes, and assisting with bedside thoracentesis/paracentesis. As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will quickly enhance your skillet caring for diverse populations of patients with varying medical/surgical needs and be a part of a multidisciplinary team.   

A caregiver in this position works 7:00PM – 7:30AM.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Provide direct nursing care. 

Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.  

Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.  

Administer prescribed medications and treatments. 

Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

Educate patients and their families.   

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.  

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).  

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). 

One-year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience. 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
