We want your knowledge and expertise! **Job Summary and Qualifications** Perform direct care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the Cardiovascular Service Line. + Use therapeutic communication in daily practice + Maintain a safe and therapeutic Intensive Care environment + Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual ICU patients + Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process + Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care + Promote an ICU environment that treats patients and families with dignity, respect and appreciation of their lifestyle, religion and culture + Maintain high quality, age specific care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as assigned + Delegate tasks appropriately + Provide supervision of new employees, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses, and / or nurse interns + Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization **What qualifications you will need:** + Minimum of one-year recent experience in Critical Care in an acute care hospital + Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date + Registered Nurse in the state of Texas or compact state license + Associate Degree, BSN preferred Program Requirements: + All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period. + Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need. + Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period. + During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee). + Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital. + Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy. + Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND, D2/ECD, and D3/EVD) + Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation. + Current FT/PT & PRN Level 3 employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2024-2025 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year. + Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program. + Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.
