POSITION SUMMARY\:

Under the direction of the Director of OB Services, implements medical, educational and psycho-social plan of care to perinatal patients, which includes Neonates, Adolescents, and Adults, in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, standards of care and Family Centered Maternity Care philosophy. Interactions with the mother-baby couple, family members and other team members reflect the mission of the family-centered care program. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE\:

Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing and currently licensed to practice nursing in the State of Ohio as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)AND holda Certification by the International Board of Lactation Examiners (I.B.L.C.E.) ORMust be a graduate of an approved school of nursing and currently licensed to practice nursing in the State of Ohio AND willing to become certified within one year. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS\:

Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external customers, including medical staff, clinical personnel, patients, and families, outside agencies and members of the community.Must have minimum of 1-year clinical experience in a hospitalsetting.
