We are hiring RNs and LPNs to join our inpatient services in the following areas: Inpatient Complex Medical Care (https://www.childserve.org/residential-care/inpatient-complex-medical-care/) program, provides 24-hour skilled nursing care in a family-focused environment. We care for children, teens, and young adults who are unable to live at home due to their complex medical needs. Pediatric Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (https://www.childserve.org/jojos-pediatric-rehabilitation-unit-intro/) is the only freestanding, comprehensive pediatric inpatient rehabilitation program for children and young adults in the state of Iowa. When You'll Work Options for prn, part-time, or full-time employment in all areas Day, nights, rotating shifts and float pool are available + PRN: requires 2 shifts in a 6-week scheduling period + Part-time: 2 12-hour shifts + Full-time: 3 12-hour shifts Most available shifts are 12 hours 6a-6p or 6p-6a but may vary depending on schedule needs. What You'll Do + Within the nursing scope of practice, physician’s orders, and the care plan, make decisions and deliver a full range of nursing care based on the fundamentals of the nursing process. + Maintain accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by nursing standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures. + Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with residents, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others to assure assigned child’s care needs are assessed, communicated, and met. + Provide training to patients, families, and staff as needed to help advance the skills and knowledge of all people associated with a child’s care delivery. + Demonstrate good stewardship of ChildServe equipment, supplies, and environment. What You'll Need + Current valid license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa + Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand. + Ability to communicate effectively in (or through) reading, writing and speaking the English language. + A big heart for helping kids with special healthcare needs live a #greatlife.
