Job Summary
The Registered Nurse Float at Prevea plays a crucial role as an integral member of our clinic team, delivering patient-centered care. Responsible for triaging incoming calls from patients and families, assessing their needs, giving appropriate advice, and facilitating appointments with physicians and advanced provider clinicians. The Registered Nurse Float position will also provide hands-on direct patient care as needed. The Registered Nurse is accountable for the delivery of exceptional and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and Prevea's policy. Through collaborative practice with members of the Prevea team, they are responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by Prevea. This role will support multiple locations.

What you will do

Manages patient/family health concerns through telephone triage and consultation. Actively seeks information to understand patient circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs. Facilitates caller’s access to appropriate level of care by assessing needs and offering clinical options using medial judgement within scope of licensure. May also refer to health care providers, services, and community resources. Collaborate with other healthcare providers to develop and implement patient care plans to ensure the best possible care and outcomes of patients. Conducts telephone calls back to patients requiring follow-up care or provide test results. Also provides health counseling and education to patients and their families about their healthcare and any follow-up instructions. Provides direct patient care which includes, but it is not limited to the rooming of patients, obtaining medical information, performing comprehensive initial patient assessment, and maintaining patient charts/records. Assists the Physician or Advanced Practice Provider with procedures, notes their instructions/ordres and makes necessary arrangements to ensure they are carried out. Direct patient care may also include medication administration, and communicating information with patients, Physician, Advanced Practice Providers and staff to ensure quality and continuity of care. Work at multiple sites with variable shifts at the supervisor's direction to cover leaves of absence, PTO (Paid Time Off), or department demands.


Education Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited and approved Nursing program Required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Wisconsin Upon Hire Required CPR/Basic Life support for Healthcare Providers certification from approved program Required
