Medina Hospital's 4 South Orthopaedic Unit is a 27-bed unit that specializes in joint replacements, cares for patients with revisions of total joint replacements, lumbar and cervical decompressions, fusions and laminectomies, and has telemetry capabilities. **A caregiver in this position works day/evening/night/weekend shifts from 7:00AM - 7:30PM or 7:00PM - 7:30AM.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide direct nursing care. + Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans. + Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions. + Administer prescribed medications and treatments. + Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. + Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs. + Educate patients and their families. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). + One-year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
