As our Medical Surgical Nurse at CHI Williston Health, you’ll excel in your nursing career by providing care to patients admitted to our unit. Most of your patients are funneled in from other units providing you with the opportunity to build on your education and experience in specialized service lines such as cardiac, telemetry, orthopedics, neurology, critical care, surgical services, and emergency.

Responsibilities
Assesses patient’s health and continuously monitors; detect changes in symptoms, health or pain, and take action as necessary; and quickly and accurately assess patient care needsResponds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol Sets priorities in plan of care based on assessed needs and anticipates personnel, supplies, and equipment required to care for patients based on assessed needsWorks collaboratively with provider to provide exceptional careAdministers medications, IV therapy, and treatments in compliance with policies and proceduresProvides patient and family educationRecords all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate formsMaintains order, stock, and cleanliness of all areas in the Medical-Surgical UnitPractices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policiesUtilizes resources appropriately and follows facility guidelines, policies, and procedures
Qualifications

Required Education and Experience 

Associate’s Degree in Nursing  

Required Licensure and Certifications

Registered Nurse: North Dakota or compact RN license for ND. American Heart Association Basic Life Support Card-CPR. PALS -within 6 months of start. ACLS -within 6 months of start.
