Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Round Rock is currently a 101-bed, full-service hospital, providing a wide network of medical expertise and resources, as well as an enhanced ability to care for patients. The medical center, adjacent specialty clinics and freestanding cancer center provide a full range of personalized care in more than 40 specialties. As we gear up to open the doors to our expansion, spanning 165,000 square feet and 66 additional beds, we will introduce a state-of-the-art patient tower to our Round Rock hospital, tailored to accommodate the evolving needs of our rapidly growing population. Among its highlights, the tower will house an innovative 11-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, alongside expanded capacities for crucial departments such as a 28-bed Cardiac Care Med Surg and labor and delivery. As we embark on this transformative journey, we invite you to seize this unparalleled opportunity to make a meaningful impact on healthcare delivery in our community **Unit Summary** Typical Conditions found in our Acute Care Med Surg Unit: · Total Hip/Knee Arthroplasty · Lumbar Laminectomy · Cervical fusion · Cervical laminectomy · Hip/femur fractures · Simple closed/open limb fractures · Acute Stroke, Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) · Acute Coronary Syndrome (low risk) · Medical Oncology/Hematology (Sickle Cell Crisis, Neutropenia) · Anemia · Altered Mental Status · GI disturbances · Other simple or complex surgical/ medical conditions **Job Summary** As a Registered Nurse, will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. **What You'll Do** + You, as an RN, will conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes. + Building relationships, managing discomfort, and staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families. + Creating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues. + You will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly. + Work with colleagues and the community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly. + You'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery. + Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions and commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development, show community service commitment. **What Will Make You Successful In The Role** + A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures. + Know nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area.
