Department: Our nurses are trained for our post op and stroke patients, many have stroke and spine education and certifications as well as orthopedic education

\n

Status: Full Time, 36 hrs. per week

\n

Shift: Night Shift, (7pm-7am- self-scheduling with rotating weekends)

\n

15 Beds

\n

Patient Ratio: 5:1 

\n

We work with surgeons and create positive relationships to support those with spine injuries and back pain. We also work closely with therapy for patient mobility and ensure our patients are up and moving post op

\n

This is our specialty unit and a special group of patients we get to make relationships with for a better future.  If you want to go into orthopedics, PT/OT this is your unit!

\n

This unit is fast paced, lots of patient turn over and staff need to be ready for lots of discharges and admissions daily.

\n

Growth and Learning Opportunities: Staff have become certified in neurology, complete education in spine care and EMU Educational classes (RQI, IV class, CLABSI, CHARGE NURSE to name a few), accommodate school schedules, have skills fair, continuing education

\n

We are a certified STEMI and STROKE facility.  It is fast-paced and being proactive is the best way to complete your tasks.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses.

\n\nYou, as an RN, will conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.\nBuilding relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families.\nCreating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues.\nYou will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.\nWork with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.\nYou'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.\nAchieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth. What Will Make You Successful In The Role

\n\nA deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.\nKnow nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Qualifications

\n\nGrad of an Accredited Program\nSpecialized field of study should be nursing.\nA current and valid nursing license.\nMust have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.\n
