Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg Observation

South Pointe Hospital’s 7th Floor Med/Surg and Observation Unit focuses on healing and surgery while providing comprehensive care and services to adults with a wide variety of diagnoses, such as chest pain, stomach pain, or generalized weakness. With such variety, no two days are the same, but you will be surrounded every day by a team of long-standing nurses who welcome you with open arms. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care, implementing and monitoring patient care plans, administering medication and treatments, assessing and coordinating patients’ discharge plans and monitoring, recording and communicating patients’ condition. 

A caregiver in this position works 7:00PM – 7:30AM.  
 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Provide direct nursing care. 

Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.  

Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.  

Administer prescribed medications and treatments. 

Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

Educate patients and their families.   


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.  

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).  

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). 

One-year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience. 


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
