MAJOR FUNCTION:

Provides nursing services to patients requiring care. Ability to assess the physical, psychosocial, and learning needs of patients.  Develops, implements, and evaluates a plan of care based on those assessments. Capable of delegating appropriate tasks and supervising ancillary staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN within 2 years from date of hire.  Previous experience in psychiatry. Minimum of one year medical-surgical nursing preferable, but not essential.

Certification/Licensure:    

Current registration with New Jersey Board of Nursing.  Welle certification required (will train).  BLS required. National Certification required within 3 years of hire.  American Heart Association CPR required.

Knowledge & Skills:

Demonstrates clinical knowledge, nursing competence, basic leadership skills and decision-making ability. Physical Requirements:
