Responsibilities
As our Womens Care/Mother Baby Nurse at CHI Saint Joseph East Women's Hospital, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you’ll care for the newly delivered Mother and for the Newborn with kindness and compassion.
The Women's Hospital at CHI Saint Jospeh East is a family friendly environment focusing on the safety of the mother and baby. The RN provides nursing care according to the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementing and evaluating. Administers medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established nursing policies and procedures. Care provided is based on defined standards of patient care and nursing evidence-based practice.

We also have some hard days and are with people as they grieve. You must be sensitive and understanding to different circumstances. Above all else, you must remain calm in an emergency. A patient’s status can change quickly and it’s never good for the patient or family to see the nurse in a panic. You’re calm. You’re in control. You’re handling the situation.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree (ADN) in Nursing from an accredited nursing college or programActive Registered Nurse (RN) license cleared by the Kentucky Board of Nursing or with eNLC multi-state practice privilegePrevious RN experience within Womens Care strongly preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS)Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required to obtain within 6 months post hirePreferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
