Overview:
The RN Surgery AORN Periop 101 New Grad Program is a challenging program, blending classroom didactics with clinical experience and unit socialization. This program is for New Graduate nurses with no nursing experience, and have graduadted within 12 months prior to start of program (March 2025). Completion will be based on 100% validation of competencies during your clinical hours.

The Perioperative 101 program for registered nurses is a 24 week program. Weeks 1-7 incorporate orientation and didactic training that prepares the nurse for clinical rotations. Didactic includes learner driven computer based training and structured classroom based learning.Beginning weeks 8 and continuing through week 24, the nurse rotates through each surgical specialty within the facility. At the end of the program, the nurse must pass a final examination.Varied Shifts for duration of 6 month training program. 10 hour, or 8 hour shifts. Start and end times to vary. Call and weekend rotations required. Varied Monday-Friday. Times/Dates to vary.Attendance for the entire training and clinical rotations are mandatoryUltimately once through residency, this position will have call requirements to include 1 night week, 24 hours weekend call and rotating holidays.Qualifications
Requirements:
Minimum one year experience as an O.R. Staff Nurse, or completion of 160 hours internship/externship in O.R. or 2 years experience as a Surgical Technician in an acute care setting. *Enrollment & successful completion into the Periop 101 program (26 weeks) will be considered in lieu of experienceRN license from State of California BLS ACLS within 6 months of employment in the positionAfter we have reviewed your application materials, you will be notified as to whether you have been selected to participate in a Dignity Health formal interview process.
