RN Nursery PRN

Position Summary\:

The RN provides direct patient care by utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Southwestern Medical Center. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties within the scope of practice of a RN according to the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act. Participates in the planning, implementing, and evaluating of nursing care.

Service/Quality/Excellence\:

· Supports hospital mission statement, philosophy, goals and objectives

· Effective verbal, written, and computer communication skills

· Complies with facility policies & procedures

· Completes regulatory education requirements

· Attends job related in-services

· Attends at least 80% of department meetings

· Registered Nurse License issued by the State of Oklahoma or as part of a compact

· BLS by end of week one

· NRP (and/or obtains within 3 months of hire)

· AWHONN Basic Fetal Monitoring (or equivalent) Annually (and/or by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation)

· AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Biannually (and/or within 6 months of hire)

· NIH Stroke Annually (and obtains by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation)

· Oklahoma Rights & Responsibilities Certificate (Medical Treatment Laws Information Act) every 2 years (and obtains by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation)

Education/Experience\:

· Graduate from an accredited nursing program

· Maintains education and development appropriate for position

Licensure/Certification Requirements\:
