RN – Obstetrics Acute
The Obsterics unit at Northridge Hospital Medical Center is actively seeking individuals who demonstrate patient care excellence. We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Obstercis unit to coordinate supervise and implement patient care based on competence professional expertise knowledge and evidence-based practice. The Registered Nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with professional standards Nurse Practice Act and hospital job description specific to the unit. This position is critical to the success of Northridge Medical Center and requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission and organizational values of the Dignity Health system.

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients of all ages in accordance with individual needs, physician orders, Hospital policy and standards of nursing practice. He/she is
responsible for directing and coordinating members of the care team, focusing on the provision of individualized quality patient care consistent with organizational values.
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care, supervises unlicensed assistive personnel, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Key responsibilities include:
Direct Patient Care: Administers medications, assesses and documents patient responses, initiates interventions, and provides teaching based on identified patient needs. Conducts hourly rounds focusing on pain management, skin integrity, elimination, and other patient needs. Documents and communicates all relevant patient information to the healthcare team.Care Planning and Coordination: Develops and implements individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, communicating the plan to the patient and family. Coordinates care with other team members to achieve desired outcomes.Supervision and Delegation: Supervises and assigns duties to unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) according to legal scope of practice and hospital policy.Team Leadership and Collaboration: Provides guidance and support to team members, establishes priorities, and coordinates nursing care. Maintains professional relationships with all members of the healthcare team, patients, and families.Technology and Documentation: Effectively utilizes electronic health records (EHR) and other electronic applications (e.g., email, LMS, TEAM). Acts as a resource for EHR use among staff and medical personnel.Professional Development: Serves as a preceptor and role model for new personnel and nursing students. Collaborates with supervisors to identify professional development needs.Compliance: Adheres to all hospital policies, procedures, legal requirements, safety standards, infection control protocols, and the Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates understanding of Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI) approaches.
Other Duties: Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum one (1) year current acute care registered nursing experience in specialty area required.Minimum 1 year experience in Obsterics required.Must have successful completion of an accredited/approved Nursing program that Includes Labor and Delivery which includes ACLS and PACU for C-section delivery. Current certification in specialty area preferred.Experience with EHR (Cerner MediTech etc?) preferred.Registered Nurse with current California License required. Current AHA BLS card required.Current certification in advanced fetal monitoringACLS and NRP required.LA City Fire Care required within 90 days of hire.
