Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes diagnostic centers, outpatient surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education. 

As an RN on the Martin North Oncology team, you will use your nursing knowledge to provide patients with empathetic support, compassion and end-of-life care. This position requires someone who truly embodies the "caregiver" mentality, offering patients and their families the healthcare for which Cleveland Clinic is known. You will also have numerous opportunities to explore additional training and educational resources to enhance your skills.

A caregiver in this position works varying shifts.   

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Provide direct nursing care. Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans. Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol.  Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.    Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.   Educate patients and their families, considering cultural issues and other special concerns.    Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing  Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)   Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)  One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience  Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of hire based on the department serviceCancer specific certification or demonstrated ongoing qualifying education within the timeframe of the facilities accreditation cycle

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
