Summary :21 bed inpatient medical unit that specializes in the care of oncology patients and chemotherapy administration. This dynamic unit manages a variety of patient with but not limited to Cancer, Pulmonary, Renal and Gastrointestinal illnesses. There is significant multidisciplinary collaboration between Nursing, Care Managers, Providers, Support Staff and Ancillary Services to ensure high quality care and support is given to our patients. The orientation for a new team member is individualized based on experience and knowledge to ensure all needs are met. Our team is dedicated to the highest quality of care and fosters great learning opportunities.Job Description:SCHEDULE:It will be for a rotating schedule of 3 weeks on days, 3 weeks on Nights. Every Third weekend and Rotating Schedules

The Registered Nurse provides patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy. Contributes to the goals of the department by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and ThedaCare policy. Through collaborative practice with members of the care team, is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by ThedaCare. Furthers the professional practice of nursing at ThedaCare by promoting a culture of innovation and a commitment to growth and professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Wisconsin RN Licensure
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) or commitment to obtain within five years. Associate's Degree in Nursing accepted in lieu of BSN for those hired prior to 1/23/17.
ONS Chemotherapy and Hematology Certificate within one year of hire.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments
Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock
Occasional high noise level in work environment
Standing and/or walking for extended periods of time
Transporting, transferring, positioning patients and/or equipment from one location to another; little likelihood for injury if proper body mechanics and procedures are followed
Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents
Occasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients.
