+ Experience Minimum: One year of Med/Surg experience Preferred: One/two years of nursing experience within the perioperative environment. Minimum: Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the people in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills both in person and over the phone. Computer literacy and past expereince within an electronic medical record system. Preferred : Experience with Microsoft Office products. Education Minimum: Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing License and Certification: License: Minimum: Current NYS license to practice Professional Nursing. Population Specific Requirements: The staff member must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed by pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient group. Exposure Control Classification: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve a potential contact with blood, body fluids, tissues. Responsibility Summary: Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the RN provides quality nursing care in an effort to promote comfort and healing, and to achieve the best possible clinical outcomes. He/She uses the nursing process and approved nursing standards to provide safe and successful quality care. Provides ongoing education to both the patient and their families. Maintains an appropriate level of knowledge and clinical expertise through continuing education, inservice program, departmental competencies, and self development activities. Works as part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide quality patient care. Provides quidance, education and support to the surgical scheduler, PAT assistant, and Patient Access Representatives. + + + + Hourly Salary $39.52-$49.44
