RN-Radiation Oncology-Full-Time

Performs care requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological, physical and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standardsMust possess ability to supervise CMA’a and students.  All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job.  He/she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.Collects assessment information/ Utilizes critical decision-making skillsCommunicates patient information to provider & implements MD ordersSafely administers chemotherapy and immunotherapyTriages phone callsPerforms procedures per hospital Policy & ProcedureRecognizes and acts promptly in emergency situations.Takes patient phone calls on the weekends, on a rotational basis, with physician support provided.Must be a graduate of a school of Nursing and have Current RN LicenseMust have a valid Driver’s LicenseMust successfully complete annual Chemotherapy Competency Checklist. Must successfully complete the ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Administration and the ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy course, when eligible (every 2 years). OCN certification strongly encouraged.Certifications based on the unit worked:BLSOCN Certification-(Strongly encouraged and preferred)
