Registered Nurse (RN) Position Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process within the Radiation Oncology office and treatment setting. Acts as a patient advocate. Provides support, information and direct care. Utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. Educates patients and families on significant self-care issues related to oncology. The RN is responsible for obtaining and documenting pertinent clinical information including vital signs, chief complaints, social concerns, medical histories, and other information necessary to provide ongoing collaborative care of the patient in a multidisciplinary team approach. The Registered Nurse aids in navigating the patients through the complexities of oncology care before, during, and after Radiation Oncology treatments.

Registered Nurse (RN) Position Requirements

Education

Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state in which you reside. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy Certificate Course preferred. Full-time and part-time staff are required to complete the ONS Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy Certificate Course within 1 year of hire/transfer and maintain certificate renewal per ONS.  Stand-by staff are required to complete the ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy: Fundamentals of Administration Course within 1 year of hire/transfer and maintain certificate renewal per ONS. National Oncology Certification (OCN) preferred; Full-time and part-time staff are required to obtain within 3 years of hire/transfer and maintain certification renewal per ONS.

Registered Nurse (RN) Work Schedule

Clinic is staffed day shift, Monday through Friday. Expected to work overtime in times of staffing shortages, emergencies and unexpected increases in workload.

Expected to respond in the event of a disaster.

Registered Nurse (RN) Benefits
