The Registered Nurse in Pediatric Cardiac ICU works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of pediatric cardiac ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards. Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team. The Registered Nurse in Pediatric Cardiac ICU is also responsible for professional accountability and development.

Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical careMonitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical conditionResponding to medical emergencies for critical patientsCoordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after dischargeHigh emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient

Requirements:

Registered Nurse licenseBLS, ACLS, PALS1 year RN Acute Care experience within Peds ICU, Peds Cardiac ICU or Adult Cardiac ICUAssociates Degree in Nursing

Location: St Josephs Main and Childrens

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 6:45PM to 7:15AM

Shift: Shift 3

Shift 1 = Days, 2 = Evenings,  3 = Nights,  4 = Varies

Weekend Work: Every Other

On Call: Yes
