The role you’ll contribute:
The Pre-Surgery RN provides nursing care for a certain group of patients under the supervision of the Director Surgical Services and Pre-Post Surgery Manager/Supervisor. The RN is responsible for utilizing nursing knowledge, organizational and communicating skills to coordinate preadmission diagnostic procedures for patients in an efficient and safe manner. The RN adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, federal agencies and accrediting bodies. All duties are performed in accordance with established departmental and Hospital policies and procedures.

· Assists in the organization and coordination of patients in order to promote efficient flow of patients for department. The objectives and goals are to provide quality and safe patient care.
· Assists with staff in department as a good team player.
· Is able to define the mechanism used to address ethical issues in patient care e.g., Living Wills, Durable Power of Attorney.
· Uses forms appropriate to the task and demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Responds promptly and effectively to patient's and guest's needs.
· Strives for excellence in performing assigned duties.
· Receives results of lab, EKG, x-rays, etc. on patients and places all reports in charts, preventing delays, cancellations, and medico-legal complications due to missing information.
· Informs physician of abnormal results as soon as possible.
· Notifies anesthesia RN when patient is available for pre-op interviewing.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
· Current valid State of Florida or multistate license as a Registered Nurse
· One year clinical nursing required.
· Current valid State of Florida or multistate license as a Registered Nurse
