Responsibilities
Role:
The Nurse Resident is a structured training program designed to transition newly graduated registered nurses (RNs) into competent and confident professional nurses within Franciscan Health System (FHS). Under the close supervision of a designated preceptor and within the scope of their licensure, the Nurse Resident participates in a comprehensive program encompassing both clinical and didactic components. This role focuses on developing foundational skills and knowledge while providing direct patient care under close supervision.
What we do:
The Medical Surgical Telemetry Nurse focuses on post-operative care
We provide excellent patient experience by performing bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and leader rounding
We work collaboratively with the Surgical and Procedure teams, all levels of providers and other areas within St. Joseph Medical Center.
We inspire to work together with the patient to maintain pain control, set goals for the shift and start early ambulation for best outcomes
We specialize in wound care such as ostomies and negative pressure vascular, we place the lines, tubes and drains.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
License & Certification:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
Current Healthcare BLS Certification.
Specialty certification, as appropriate to the assigned work unit, is strongly preferred.
