Job Overview:

The RN Nurse Residency program provides new nurse a safe, caring, supportive and robust learning environment for a new RN nurse to gain clinical competency and achieve transition from student to professional.

Qualifications:

Required:

Graduate from an accredited School of NursingGraduation within the last year and/or less than 6-months of nursing practiceDemonstrated passion in the area of interestFlexibility to attend orientation as determined by the programGPA over 3.2Leadership and desire to become involved in a professional practice journeyAbility to attend focus groups and additional learning requirements for practice achievement

Preferred:

BSN degree

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Current New Jersey RN licenseCurrent AHA BLS Certification

Essential Functions:

A preceptor and relationship-guided new graduate transition program.Continuing education and ongoing enhancement of professional development.An understanding and application of professional accountability and ethical practice inherent in the role of the registered nurse.Recognition of the effects of skilled nursing practice on patient safety, quality and satisfaction.Using a holistic and relationship-centered nursing practice framework of Jean Watson s Theory of Human CaringSelf-care highlighted as important to a safe and fulfilling nursing practice for nurse and patient.Hired into the area of specialtyVariable Day Evening or Night Shift
