School Nurse duties and responsibilities

School Nurses are responsible for providing medical assistance to school-age students, and they complete multiple tasks each day ranging from assessing minor injuries to requesting emergency services. Specific School Nurse job duties and responsibilities may include:

Conducting student hearing and vision screeningsEducating students on hygiene and safety practicesDispensing prescription medications to students per physician instructionsVerifying vaccination recordsTaking students’ temperatures when fever is suspectedAdministering first aid and CPRTreating minor injuries such as cuts, scrapes and bruisesContacting parents when students are ill or injuredQualificationsNY Registered Nurse licenseSchedule:

Monday - Friday, 8am-3pm
