Position Description: The RN School Nurse identifies, evaluates and treats student health disorders and provides disease prevention and health-related instruction to students and school personnel. The RN School Nurse also refers students to the appropriate school contacts/resources, as needed, for additional services and support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Responsible for providing professional, medical treatment to students + Responsible for early detection of student physical problems and for completing student health evaluations + Coordinates vision, hearing, and orthopedic screening and health assessments + Responsible for providing, or assisting teachers with providing disease prevention, nutrition and general health education + Assists school personnel with the promotion of health education and immunization programs Designs and implements student Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) + Provides, and/or oversees, student medication administration and medical treatments as required by student’s IHP + Maintains clinical records + Provides emergency aid to students and school staff + Consults with, conducts in-service training for, and serves as a resource person for school staff + Participates in the implementation of health instruction/curriculum + Counsels & assists students and parents in health-related adjustments + Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements: + Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred + Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in specific state required + Two years of successful experience as a school nurse preferred + Valid CPR certification required + Successful completion of Maxim Orientation and Compliance training, and all other assigned trainings as applicable required + Successful completion of Maxim’s Competency Program required + Successful completion of training, testing, and/or additional requirements as stated by contract required + Excellent Communication skills + Proficiency in the English language required + Current Health Certificate (per facility contract or state regulation) required + Must meet all federal, state, local, and contract requirements + Technological proficiency including mobile devices for documentation + Must be at least 18 years of age Compliance & Ethics Expectations: + Participates in successfully completes the Company’s Compliance program requirements and adheres to the Code of Conduct, Company policies, and applicable federal and state requirements + Sets an example for other employees regarding how the Company’s Code of Conduct and Compliance Program is applied and observed every day when interacting with customers, business operations, or other team members + Reports potential violations of Company policy, Code of Conduct, and/or applicable laws and regulations to the Company hotline, through the chain of command, to the Compliance and Ethics Department, or through other channels made available by the Company for reporting potential violations + Promotes an environment in which other employees are encouraged to report potential compliance violations + As appropriate, provides input and suggestions regarding how policies, procedures, workflows, and/or controls can be improved to enhance compliance Maxim Benefits: Health and Wellness Medical/Prescription, Dental, Vision, Health Advocacy (company paid if enrolled Medical) and Health Advocate Employee Assistance Program Retirement and Financial Security: Health Savings Account, 401(k), Short Term Disability, Voluntary Group Life Insurance and Supplemental Accidental Insurance, Hospital Expense Protection Plan, Critical Illness Insurance, Home and Auto Insurance discounts, Pet Insurance and Legal Benefits Lifestyle Benefits: Paid Time Off, Employee Discount Program, Transportation Benefits and College Partnership Program *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
