RN School Vaccinator
+ Nurses who have outpatient, pediatric clinic or family/neighborhood practice experience with providing vaccinations for children/families + Experience with using electronic health records and tech savvy/comfortable using computer systems is a must + The RN will work in a clinic setting at 1 of the 5 district offices + Recent pediatric and vaccination experience is required + 3 Main Duties: administering vaccines, drawing blood, TB test + Other duties: nurse intervention, entering in patient data, making sure they are giving the student documentation for them to enter the school, must be flexible as they may be asked to provide vaccines at other health events and certain locations in Fairfax + Over 6,000 students do not have up to date TB/Vaccines etc. and it is crucial we have good nurses to efficiently meet with these students and figure out what vaccine they need or if they need bloodwork to take care of these students and make sure they are up to date on all immunizations/vaccines/TB tests + Great decision making skills – they will decipher what vaccine pool is needed for a specific student, potentially diluting some medication + Go through the vaccine data base and decipher immunization and decide what medication/vaccine to give the student + Familiarity with CDC Vaccination Scheule + What resumes are NOT a good fit? + Case Management, Psych, Post/Pre Op, OR + Covid vaccinator nurse or worked at CVS giving vaccinations + Assignment length: Remainder of School Year + Orientation: TBD ( in 2-3 weeks is my guess) + Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday = 8am-4:30pm Tuesday = 10am – 6:30pm + Up to date resume required for submittal The School Nurse assumesresponsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing processand the delivery of student/client care and/or contracted services in a schoolsetting. The School Nurse may also be in a supervisory position within the contractedservices. The School Nurse provides services in accordance with Amergis Healthcare’s philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.
