RN Specialist – Cardiac Testing

As an RN Specialist, you will be responsible for providing and/or assisting with the care of patients receiving cardiac procedures such as stress testing, arrhythmia evaluation, and preparation or follow-up care to aid the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Your role is essential to creating the best healthcare experience possible for patients.
A caregiver in this position works from 7:00AM – 3:30PM and 7:30AM – 4:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform regular exercise testing, including graded maximal stress testing with Nuclear Imaging, cardiopulmonary stress testing, and stress echocardiography. Perform pharmacologic stress testing with nuclear imaging or echocardiography. Perform holter monitor procedures, scans data and generates a report for further evaluation by the physician. Prepare and monitor patients during transesophogeal echocardiogram. Perform tilt table exams. Prepare and educate patients, families, and employees about procedures to be administered. Maintain and update patient records. Maintain equipment in proper working condition. Assist with quality improvement reviews, projects and initiatives. Participate in community outreach events sponsored by AGMC/HVC. Follow hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety. Complete mandatory education and training to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements and applicable certification/licensure. Remain flexible to work in and cross train between other areas in the Heart and Vascular Center. Support and participate in community wellness programs. Serve as preceptor for university students in nursing and/or other health sciences.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing Current state licensure in Ohio as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Three to five years nursing experience in critical care or cardiologyPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
