Memorial 5 South is a 24-bed Neurosurgery step-down and progressive care unit. Common patients that are seen are neurosurgery, post-surgical back/spine, general surgery, and trauma as well as many more opportunities to learn. Patients cared for in the progressive care unit include patients requiring invasive (arterial) blood pressure monitoring, lumbar drains, acute intracranial hemorrhages, and intra-spinal medication administration.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide clinical leadership and direction of patient care, provide patient and family teaching, and work cooperatively within the interdisciplinary health care team in maintaining standards of nursing care within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education/Experience Graduate of state board approved School of Nursing.
