About our unit

Cardiac Catheterization services are provided at the Fredrick and Lena Meijer Heart Center. The Cardiac Cath Lab unit is a highly specialized procedural unit focusing on providing care to patients having a variety of cardiac conditions. The lab is a very fast-paced, dynamic unit, that quickly adapts to emergent situations. It consists of five procedure rooms, providing care for patients experiencing issues with heart failure, structural issues, peripheral circulatory issues; and coronary issues such as chest pain, NSTEMI and STEMI. Staff are drawn to the Cath lab, not only for the wide variety of procedures performed, but also for the innovative procedures that are provided to the community.

Scope of work

Assumes shift accountability for managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing service/ unit of the hospital. Some service lines may require the ability to be available for on-call to better support the nursing service/unit. Additionally, Inpatient Supervisors may be required to fill-in for the hospital supervisor as needed. Key responsibilities include assisting with the following: clinical support, unit based goal setting, program development, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, policy and procedure development and interpretation, performance improvement, performance correction, and coaching and mentoring.

Corewell Health Nurse Supervisors are REQUIRED to obtain their Nursing Administration or Professional/Specialty Certification within 12 months of assuming the role, or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hire in to the role.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nursing Required.Master's degree in nursing Preferred.Skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through 1+ year of related clinical experience in area of specialty Required.MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
