What you'll do Under general supervision of the Regional Manager of Medical Imaging, the RN Supervisor Medical Imaging provides immediate supervision to technical, lead technical, coordinators and related radiology personnel throughout their assigned region. Overseas operations of all modalities within their scope. Some examples include- Ultrasound, CT, MRI, DX, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Mammography, DXA and radiology clinic operations. In coordination with the regional manager prepares daily work schedules; ensures efficient day-to-day operation of assigned locations/modalities. Ensures quality assurance of services; ensures TJC, MQSA, specialty-accrediting bodies and additional regulatory standards are met including ACR and ICAVL; provides and updates information internally within the department and externally to interested parties in regards to areas of responsibility. The supervisor assists the manager in coordinating, planning, selecting and implementing major capital equipment purchases to include but not limited to projection of demand for services, analyze emerging technology and develop proformas that are met once new projects are implemented. Maintains adequate supply levels for patient care needs. Coordinates maximum access possible for patients and their referring providers. Works with Radiologists to continuously improve technology, services and patient satisfaction. Responsible for the financial performance of all cost centers including budgeting and variance reporting of the operational budget. The supervisor is in a leadership role within the imaging network and will work closely with leaders who oversee other areas of the network to ensure optimized patient flow efficiencies and patient satisfaction. Provides immediate supervision to all radiology technical personnel assigned Ensures proper quality and quality of work completed by modality staff Prepares daily work schedule assuring coverage Reassigns personnel as required in conjunction with other leadership as needed Assures proper completion of records by technologist to meet accepted standards & for billing and recording purposes Interviews, orients and supervises all technical and support staff for designated modalities. Provides immediate supervision and corrective action (as needed), assigns work, evaluates performance and ensures on-going training Prepares and implements work schedules and project plans; including work assignments, emergency coverage plans, etc. Completes bi-weekly payroll and approves time off ensuring adequate staffing at all times at all locations Operational Responsibilities Patient Satisfaction with Access as measured by established Benchmarks (Press Ganey) for all areas of supervision Quality standards met as measured by assigned PI projects and other sources determined with the Director and Radiologist Group Ensure proper stock of supplies for all patient care needs Ensures that technical protocols; testing procedures and techniques are met to an acceptable standard of care Participates in evaluations of recommendations regarding equipment and technical protocols; completes new testing procedures and assists in establishing new techniques and protocols Works closely with PACS Administrator and Business Operations Manager to ensure connectivity and compliance for image availability record reporting and charge processing needs Coordinates preventative maintenance schedules for imaging and computer equipment in conjunction with vendor services personnel. Notifies same and coordinates resolution in the event of equipment failure Ensures that all applicable Hospital standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., NYSDOH) and quality standards (e.g., TJC, DNV or any governing body) are met With direction from Radiologists, perform and maintain a quality assurance program for areas of assignment modalities/locations Plan, with colleagues, cross coverage for management accessibility and backup. In the absence of leadership staff from other areas of the department, act as a departmental leader as necessary Represents and balances the interests of the Chief and Section Chief and medical Imaging regions in program development, clinical quality and adherence to protocols for each modality across the network Responsibilities for Information Works with local leadership to ensures communication and coordination of staff of previous and next shifts regarding equipment problems, waiting patients and other like information Functions as a liaison between all locations within their region hospitals, health center clinics, physicians and staff, explaining department procedures, resolving problems and coordinating activities which affect patient care. Ensures all information regarding procedural or operational changes within the facilities/modalities of responsibility are communicated to the department and hospital personnel Prepares reports for the Director or other senior management on all aspects of assigned facilities/modalities as appropriate or as requested Financial Responsibilities Track and maintain expense control as budgeted. Report any variances to the manager and Network Business Operations Manager Assists managers and Director in budget planning Required responsibility for all positions: Completes mandatory requirements within the appraisal period Completes annual mandatory education within the performance appraisal period Ensures responsibility for staff annual requirements Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed Maintain standard of care when performing duties as a radiologic technologist Performs other duties as requested and observed by leadership What we need from you Education/Qualifications: Completion of a Diploma Professional Nursing Program, or associate degree in nursing, required All RN’s hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor’s prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire. BSN must be completed within 10 years. RN’s licensed on or before 12/19/17 are/remain exempt from this requirement. 4 year/Bachelor's degree in nursing, preferred 2 year/Associate degree - successful completion of certificate, associates or higher-level education in a credentialed medical imaging program, preferred Experience: Minimum 5 years in nursing or medical imaging, preferred Minimum 2 years experience in a leadership role in the imaging field may be considered Licensure/Certificates: Current NYS license as a RN , required Current BLS certification, required NYS Licensure as a Radiology Tech, preferred ARRT (r) or ARDMS, preferred ARRT (M) or (MRI) or (CT), preferred Skills: Leadership Clinical Skills Computer Skills Multi-Tasking Customer Service Supervise Others Critical Thinking Interacting with People Maintain Files Time Management Quality Control Reliability Training Physical Requirements: Heavy Work: exerting up to 100 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Pay Range Minimum: USD $89,576.05/Yr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $134,364.07/Yr.
