About the Department:

The Inpatient Operating Room (IPOR) is made up of 23 operating suites with three dedicated to open heart surgery.  A full scope of surgical services are available with the exception of organ transplants including general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, plastics, ENT, ophthalmology, interventional radiology, robotics, vascular, thoracic, neurosurgery and cardiac surgery.   Previous surgical experience is desired; however, the unit regularly offers a perioperative nurse training program for both new graduates and experienced nurses looking to start a career in surgical services.   BCLS is/will be required.    

Job Duties:

Registered nurse implements the nursing process for each patient regardless of age(i.e. infancy to geriatric) assigned to his/her care and is responsible for the patient’s care within the parameters of the Nursing Practice.

Requirements:

Active Kentucky License

BCLS Required within 90 days of employment

Hospital Surgical OR experience preferred
