The unit’s primary focus are post-operative and traumatic care for the surgical and trauma population with services aimed at stabilizing, detecting, and treating emergency conditions as well as monitoring their chronic conditions. Patient population includes pre/post op patients from many different disciplines including: General, Colorectal, Ortho, Neuro, Plastic, Urology and OMFS surgeries Trauma patients commonly have multiple diagnoses which may include: multiple bone fractures secondary to MVA or Fall, gunshot wound, pneumothorax, traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, concussion, assault, blunt trauma, stabbed wound Education of the patient and family is a consistent theme and focus throughout all levels of care provided 33-patient bed unit RN ratio of 4-5 patients Close relationship with Trauma surgeons Collaborate daily with Care Management team and PT/OT Qualifications: Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school License: Current RN license in state of MO or meets the criteria to be eligible for licensure in state of Missouri Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association For more information please reach out to Georgie Trammell at Georgie.Trammell@Mercy.Net EEO/AA/Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans
