Responsibilities:
Dressing Changes: Perform sterile dressing changes for all types of vascular access devices (VADs), including PICC lines, central venous catheters, and implanted ports. Monitor and assess the condition of all vascular access sites regularly and report any signs of infection or complications.Infection Control: Implement and adhere to strict infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination or infection. Educate patients and family members on the importance of sterile technique and proper care of vascular access sites.Documentation: Accurately document all procedures, observations. Ensure continuity of care by communicating any changes or updates in patient care plans to relevant healthcare team members.Collaboration: Work closely with nursing staff, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Participate in team meetings to update and review hospital policies regarding vascular access care/ maintenance. Education and Training: Participate in ongoing education to stay updated on the latest practices and technologies in vascular access care. Provides training and mentorship to new staff members on proper dressing change techniques and protocols.Benefits:
