RN - Vascular ICU
How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:

RN opportunity on Vascular ICU, part of Carilion Clinic's Cardiovascular Institute. Rotating shift with weekend and holiday rotation. $30,000 sign on bonus available. Relocation or travel allowance bonus for qualifying candidates.

The Vascular Thoracic Intensive Care Unit is a 12-bed surgical ICU that offers a unique opportunity for RNs beginning their nursing career, those with experience, and those seeking advanced nursing roles in the future, such as NP or CRNA. This unit is one of the two surgical ICUs making up Carilion’s Cardiovascular Institute (CVI).

Learn from experts how to assess neurological, vascular, and cardiac systems. Work with patients recovering from endovascular surgery, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, neurological trauma, cardiac disease, and stroke.

RN will have an enormous skill set after completing orientation, including invasive hemodynamics, advanced stroke care, neurosurgical interventions, ventricular drains, chest tubes, Cardiac Surgery Advanced Life Support (CSU-ALS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Massive Blood Transfusion protocol (MTP).

We seek nurses who want to learn new skill sets and care for high acuity patients in a safe, structured, and supported learning environment. As a team member, you will discover a culture of teamwork, professionalism, mutual respect, and most importantly, a commitment to high-quality patient-centered care.

As part of CVI, this unit will be relocating to the new Crystal Spring Tower by 2025. The Crystal Spring Tower is a 400,000-square-foot expansion to Roanoke Memorial Hospital – the future home of our Cardiovascular Institute and an expanded Emergency Department. This video explains the stages of construction, which began in the summer of 2020.
