Responsibilities

Prime's Road Maintenance Advisor will be responsible for advising and coordinating the maintenance needs of a fleet of equipment by performing the following duties:

 

Understand the mechanical theory and operation of Prime's diesel trucking equipment.Provide excellent customer service to our drivers in the instance of a breakdown or mechanical issue.Work with our drivers and various departments to reduce downtime and increase fleet productivity by making sure proper repairs are done quickly and efficiently.Keep track of preventative maintenance on equipment and parts.Negotiate vendor rates and truck repairs to keep costs at a minimum for the company and drivers.Generate cost-saving measures for fleet by utilizing data analysis, Microsoft Excell, Access, and Outlook.Provide product and warranty information to involved parties.Resolve product and service problems when necessary.Process payment for invoices after a careful review of time and materials.Performs related work as required. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

 

Knowledge

Mechanical knowledge and experience is a plus. Also knowledge of the trucking industry is a bonus.

 

Skills and Qualifications

Customer service, product knowledge, quality focus, problem solving abilities, detail oriented, listening, phone skills, conflict resolution, analysis and multi-tasking.

 

Abilities

Candidate must have a strong work history. Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends required.

 

Experience, Education, and Training

Four year college degree is preferred, but will accept experience and/or knowledge of industry and position as a substitution. Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge is required, and ability to type 45 WPM is a must. Seeking candidate with good written and verbal communication skills.

 

Working Environment

Applicant must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to take multiple calls and assist multiple drivers at a time.
