Compensation and Benefits:

Job Summary:
The Road Maintenance Foreman reports to the Resort Maintenance Construction & Maintenance Manager and is the lead person managing the fleet of heavy & medium duty trucks, loaders and other equipment in snow removal and summer construction projects at Killington and Pico Resorts.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Plan, supervise and coordinate all road maintenance operations, including winter plowing, sanding and salting with heavy equipment, summer road and construction support in the resortSupervise and perform snow removal operations for our 5 major ski lodges, parking lots, driveways and support buildingsExercise full supervisory authority over 10 staff. Including training, planning work schedules, assigning and checking work, and resolving problemsAdminister and assist in planning the road maintenance operating budgetSupervise and carry out the proper operation and maintenance of equipmentOrder and maintain an appropriate inventory of supplies, tools and equipmentDeal regularly with outside vendors, such as gravel/salt/sand suppliers, equipment and tool suppliers and outside contractorsPrepare various administrative/operations reports and records, such as time sheets and inventoriesSupervise comprehensive safety program ensuring proper safety procedures are followedMaintain all equipment mechanically and electrically so that the fleet is efficient and availableAlways provide superior service to our customers (internal and external). Follow the Resort Etiquette Guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous, efficient manner
 

Basic Qualifications: 

Basic education (high school), plus one or more years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquiredAt a minimum - CDL-B license and medical cardPre-employment drug & alcohol screeningAbility to run wheel loaders, excavators and other heavy-duty vehiclesAbility to communicate effectively using MS email & other programsAbility to work in both hot and cold environmentsKeen attention to safety and ability to communicate safe work practices to staffAbility to lift 80 poundsAbility to operate equipment safely  

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong verbal communication skills Presentable appearance and ability to speak with vendors, guests, and other employees effectivelyMust have own transportation, as schedule does not match public transportation Must be flexible with times, depending on business, events, deliveries, etc.Ability to work effectively with staff in multiple locationsMust lead by example (punctual, good listener, communicates effectively, friendly, hard worker)Experience, skills and some tools required to maintain fleet
