Find out more at www.TransdevNA.com or watch an overview video at https://youtu.be/ilO5cv0G4mQ     We’re Hiring for Road Supervisor - Fixed Route in Jefferson Parish, La.    Transdev is proud to offer:  $30.38 Attractive benefits package, including 401(k) with company contribution, medical, dental and vision. Paid time off/vacation.PURPOSE OF POSITION:  To supervise and direct all activities of the Bus Operators, through radio contact, dispatching activity at the garage, and contact in the field.  Is the direct link for ensuring that on-the-street service is provided in a professional manner, in accordance with published schedules, the management contract with the client, and policies and procedures set up by the Company.PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS: Supervise and direct the daily operational activities of drivers with respect to movement of vehicles.  Makes spontaneous decisions, using good judgement in order to provide excellent service to the customer.Informs appropriate supervisory personnel regarding operational problems and assists in efforts to resolve them.Assists in the preparation of routes, schedules, driver work schedules, periodic bids, and similar work-related documents.Makes sure Bus Operators report for work in proper uniform, and properly equipped to perform their job functions.Prepares daily work schedules, and monitors and controls overtime.Responds to passenger complaints, investigating them with the Bus Operator, and working with supervisory personnel to resolve conflicts.Reviews accident and incident reports with Bus Operators and assures that all information necessary has been gathered.Monitors and controls Bus Operator performance, either by radio or in the field, and makes rerouting decisions as necessary in order to keep the service operating as smoothly as possible.  Provides needed supplies.Gives route and schedule information to the general public when necessary.Provides assistance to Bus Operators in emergency situations, and when other unusual circumstances exist.  Investigate accidents.May assist in training new Bus Operators, and in the remedial retraining of Bus Operators.May assist in training new Bus Operators, and in the remedial retraining of Bus Operators.May assist in the interviewing and selection of Bus Operator and Operations Supervisor applicants.May operator a bus when necessary.Evaluates the performance of Bus Operators.Maintains a variety of paperwork and transit system records in a neat and legible manner.May assist other employees in the processing of farebox revenue and preparing it for deposit.Is expected to be available to respond to emergencies or urgent situations at all hours.Other duties as assigned or required. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:High school diploma or equivalent is requiredAbility to read, comprehend, and understand maps, schedules, policies, procedures, and other written documents.Possess basic arithmetic and computer skills.Possess good oral and written communication skills, and the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with employees and the general public, often under adverse conditions.Ability to investigate accidents, incidents, and complaints fully and impartially, and to submit written reports of findings a potential solution to problems.Must possess a valid Louisiana Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements, and a current U.S. DOT Physical Examination card.  Must make him/herself available for drug and alcohol testing.Must have thorough knowledge of the city street system, routes and schedules, and of regulations relating to the operations of a transit system.Must have knowledge of supervisory principles and methods.Possess the ability to quickly analyze a situation and provide timely solutions.Must be able to work efficiently under pressure.Must be able to follow directions, and transit system policies and procedures in a manner that is fair and equitable to all, while ensuring the provision of quality transit services. WORKING CONDITIONS & DEMANDS:When performing outside supervisory duties, time is spent driving Company automobiles to various locations.  This may also involve riding buses and working with employees and the general public out of doors at terminals and on city streets.  May be exposed to weather conditions, and noises and smells associated with public streets.  When performing inside dispatch duties, time is spent in a normal office environment.  This is generally sedentary work, and much of it is performed while seated either in a vehicle or at a desk.  Encounters frequent periods of pressure and stress. The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.  They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified. Transdev is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and welcomes all qualified applicants.
